The annual western division walk took place on Saturday 17th May. Having met at Easebourne, ringing took place there on the pleasant 11cwt 8. Ringing varied from rounds and call changes, to a half course of Yorkshire. After a brief cup of coffee it was a 3 mile walk onto the Hollist Arms at Lodsworth for lunch and a couple of pints of ale. Prior to ringing at St Peter's Lodsworth, Angie and Ian were presented with a wedding gift in anticipation of their forthcoming marriage. Lodsworth Surprise Minor was rung twice along with Stedman, Grandsire and Plain Bob. With the weather still holding (just) it was time for the 4 mile walk to Petworth. There were some good views to be enjoyed of the newly planted vineyard at Upperton, and the stately home at Petworth Park. A ringers tea was laid on at St Mary's Petworth before the final ring of the day, the 18cwt Gillett and Johnston 8. Many thanks to Mike Etherington for organising the walk.   May 2008   18 images
