The annual Beer Festival and Diesel Gala at the Swanage Railway featured 7 visiting, and 3 resident locomotives in action this year. 07007 was provided by Bruce Knight of Knight's Rail Services Eastleigh, and this was the first time the shunter had left Eastleigh Works in over 30 years. 20096 and 37275 came down from Barrow Hill, and 37906 and 50044 were also tripped across from the recently reopened Severn Valley Railway. GBRf provided 66724 to trip the visiting locomotives to Swanage, and privately owned 73107 brought 4 VEP 3417 'Gordon Pettitt' across from Bournemouth T&RSMD. This could well have been the last opportunity to ride aboard 3417, as a move to the Bluebell Railway is rumoured to be in the offing.   May 2008   56 images
